Paulina Nunez 2 Player Week
Paulina is this weeks Runner of the Week hands down. Her aggressiveness on the course and willingness to be coached through the race earned her a top spot at the Section 1 Coaches Invitational. Earlier in the week it was Paullina's suggestion to make a trip up to WCC to see the course that set the tone for the week. WCC is also the same course that Sectionals will be held on November 3rd. Her leadership style is one of show and not tell. Three years ago Paulina was a mid-pack runner with poor running form but she also showed a lot of desire to get better. The persistent commitment to excellence has corrected her form into a near perfect stride. Her confidence and experience to prepare herself calms those around her and in turn compelling her younger teammates to perform better. This senior has come along way in a short time. Her dedication to running faster started last spring when she made a commitment to qualify for the cross country State Meet. Doing long runs on her own and meeting with me at 7am, 2 days a week is turning out to be the difference between being a mid-pack runner and a top female athlete in the section. Look for Paulina and shout words of encouragement to her the next 2 weeks as she qualifies for the State Championships. Good luck Paulina . "Younger runners listen and learn from her"
