Kadeem Scott took on some of the States fastest high school runners this weekend at the county championships. With all classes being combined Kadeem and Paulina had their work cut out for them this weekend. Kadeem represented himself and his school with 2 top-notch races qualifying him for the finals in the 100m and 200m. Kadeem went on to place 6th in both finals. This is pretty amazing considering his competition. Paulina was presented with a challenge earlier in the week that in order for her to run at Binghamton (were she is attending school in the fall) she must be able to run an 11 min 3000m. The problem is that her best time to date was 12 min. a minute is a lot of time for the 3000m . Like always, Nunez took this as a challenge and literally ran with it. It was not looking good at the county meet with the cold weather and the heavy rains. As the 3000 went off it look a little slow and did not think any great times were going to come out of this race. Paulina ended up turning it up a notch and running a very impressive 11:11. Congratulations to both of you.
