Westchester County Meet Results

Posted Monday, May 21, 2007 by Perry King
The Westchester County Meet was held on a cold wet Saturday, May 19, at Byram Hills HS. A group of the Eagles participated in running and one jumping event and mainly improved their times by quite a bit. The exception was the sprints, where Kadeem, Lisa, and Yerusalem had to run almost the entire parts of the 100 and 200 into a wind.

The contrary breeze did not stop Kadeem from picking up two 6th place medals for 2 points for the boys team. Paulina got the girls on the scoreboard with a great personal best time in the 3000 to grab a 6th place and 1 point for the girls.

Not all times and places are known at this point, but as best as I can figure out they are noted below. Six places were awarded in the overall open scoring and three were awarded for Class C. Note that the school size cutoffs for the county meet were higher than they are for the Sectional meet, so teams such as Woodlands and Pleasantville competed at the C level for the boys, but Pleasantville was in Class B for the girls.
Go figure.
