The tabulation of the Dobbs 5K results is underway. We do not have a listing of the names of the runners based on their race numbers, so we are trying to fill in names as we go. Eagles' sophomore Patrick Wortner claimed the top spot in the race finishing in an excellent 17:37.4 on a fairly hot morning. Patrick's teammates Evan Fallor and David King placed 4th and 6th to get the 2nd and 3rd place awards for the male 15-19 age group. Brendan Wortner topped the male 14-under age group with a 10th place finish and was joined in the medal-taking by Raymond Vincent in 17th place and Taka Masuda in 22nd for the silver and bronze.
On the women's side, Pleasantville's Libby Lazare showed her hops as one of Section 1 \ Class C's top runners with a 20:35.3 first place finish for females and 18th overall. Sarah King was the first Dobbs gal across the line in 24th place and less than 1 minute behind Lazare, good for 1rst in the 14-under category. Karen Maehara took 3rd place in the 14-under category in her first XC-oriented contest with a 56th place finish. Also grabbing medals for the Eagles were Isabella Natale and Emma Stiefler-Johnson, who took the first and second places in the 15-19 age group.
Eight of those who fledged the Eagles also ran the race and among these ancient of wing Perry King finished 9th overall and grabbed the silver in the 50-59 aged group and Deirdre Constant took 3rd for the sprightlier 40-49 age women with a 57th place finish.
