Paulina takes 76th at Albany Invitational
While the Eagles' girls were competing at the Manhattan Invitational on October 13, their 2006 XC captain Paulina Nunez and the Binghamton Bearcats hit the trails at the University of Albany XC Invitational. The Bearcats did very well with a pack strategy that all coaches love. They placed 5th out of 29 scoring teams with 172 points and an 18:36.7 team average on a 5K course.
Paulina was the 9th Bearcat finisher in 76th place with a 19:25.2 time, good for a 6:16 pace. She beat out two other runners to the finish by a few tenths of a second. As a mark of Paulina's progress this season, she finished 6 seconds and 11 places ahead of 2006 Pearl River standout Julie Hudak, the 2nd best runner in Section 1 Class B last year with the champion Pirates and now running for Marist College.
Next up for Binghamton is the America East Championship at Stony Brook on October 27. Luck to Paulina and the Bearcats.
