Paulina Nunez Runs with Bearcats at America East Conference Championships
Former Eagle captain Paulina Nunez wrapped up a promising first season with the University of Binghamton cross country team on October 27 at the America East Conference Championships at the University of Stony Brook on Long Island. Coach JP Kaminski was on hand to see Paulina and the Bearcats compete against six other conference teams.
The host school won the championship on a 5K course, with Binghamton finishing 5th. Boston University, Maine, New Hampshire, Albany, University of Maryland - Baltimore County also competed. The Bearcats' Ashley Horton was the top finisher for the team in 16th place. Paulina was the 9th Bearcat in with a time of 20:14.6 and was within 17-46 seconds of the 2nd to 8th place Bearcat finishers.
The race probably finished up Paulina's competitions for her freshman XC season as the team is restricted to running 7 in their final meets, the NCAA Northeast Regional and the IC4A Championship. Congratulations on a season of big strides and looking forward to her presence for some training time with the young Eagle runners in 2008.
