Dobbs Preps for County Meet with Strong Show at Blind Brook
The Eagles traveled to the spiffy new track at Blind Brook on Monday, May 6th, and again did well against a group of overmatched schools that included the host Trojans along with Leake and Watts and Clark Academy. The girls had no competition in many events on a hot, sun-scorched afternoon as the regular season came to a close.
As the host scorers again did not send the results to the Journal News and we still don't have photo loading rights on this website, there unfortunately is only sketchy stuff left to say. From what I understand, Evan Fallor and Pat Newman ran blazing 4:56 and 4:58 times respectively to take the 1600. Alan Sanseverino won the 100 and 200, Evan took the 800, Pat Wortner won the 3200, Kevin Dahill won the 400 hurdles (not sure about the 100 hurdles) and Ramson Ragin won the triple jump with a PR 36'+ leap. The weight events could not be contested.
On the girls side, Phoebe Maddox ran the 100-400 events and picked up at least one win, Lauren Hanley took the 800 and 1500, Sarah King won the 3000, Celia Smith took the 100 hurdles and Izzy Natale won the 400 hurdles. Not sure how the team did in the jumps.
This Tuesday, on May 13, the Eagles will participate in the League Championship meet. From what I understand, the meet will be held at Rye Neck and will mainly be a battle between Dobbs and Alexander Hamilton among a group of four teams in the Section 1, Conference 4 South league. Bronxville has been shuttled off to the Central league, which kind of opens up the competition for the Eagles a bit. The boys should be strong favorites to win the championship, and the girls could help pull a sweep of championships for Dobbs if they stay close in the sprints and compete strongly in the jumping and weight events against Hamilton.
My apologies for the lack of info and pix here, but neither the Varsity News nor the Armory Track \ NY Milesplit websites provide much to work with.
