Senior Gives Eagles a Shot

Posted Monday, May 19, 2008 by Perry King
If senior Brandon Brailsford is looking to give his younger brother a tough goal to shoot for during Devonte's last two+ years on the Track field, he's doing a pretty fair job. Brandon is going out in style after first a League championship 43-10 throw in the shotput followed by a 5th place throw of almost the same distance in the Westchester County Meet, where he also earned a 2nd in Class C.

Brandon has a couple feet on Devonte on his shotput throws if not his personal stature, but he knows time is running out on his chances for a super monstrous throw that might faze even Devo in the years ahead. The last chance may be the Sectional Meet where he will be up against not only Croton Harmon's TJ Hare but also a few big Eagles like his brother, Mike Altman, and Joe Giuliano.

The battle is on, and there couldn't be a better group of guys to wish a great day on Thursday as Brandon leads them one last time to the shot and discus cages and some mighty heaves.
