Binghamton Bearcat XC team for 2008 with familiar face in 2nd row over on left
Ex-Eagle captain Paulina Nunez got her sophomore season off to a fast start on Friday, September 5 for the Binghamton University Bearcats at the Baltimore Metro Invitational. Paulina broke into the top 7 of the Bearcats on the 5K course by running a 19:42 time for 20th place, one second and one place behind the Bearcats 5th runner Jennifer Hastings. The Bearcats' Katie Radzik took 1rst with a course-record-smashing 18:03 time, and the team took a close 3rd of 11 schools with 56 points, behind winner Johns Hopkins and the host Towson State. Paulina's best career race was also only 9 seconds behind the Bearcats' heralded freshman Ryann Cretney, who finished in the team's 4th spot.
The Bearcat guys dominated the men's race scoring a near minimum 16 points while taking the first four spots led by top runner Chris Gaube. The Bearcats next meet is the Buffalo Stampede Invitational on Saturday, September 20. Congrats also to Paulina for being named to the America East Conference Honor Roll and the Commissioner's honor list.
