Eagles Lose to Strong Viking Squad, Beat Blind Brook in 2nd Meet of Season
The Dobbs Track team traveled to Blind Brook on Tuesday, April 14 on a frigid drizzly day to run and jump against teams from Valhalla and Blind Brook. Because the incomplete track still has no shot put and discus areas, the throwers sat for a second year there. A few pictures of the running action are posted here but none of the jumpers due to restrictions imposed by the Blind Brook coach. Some of the results were finally reported on Thursday but are missing some of the events entirely and just give the often mangled name of the first place runner and sometimes without the winning time or distance for those that were printed.
Official reported score: Boys -- Valhalla 79, Dobbs Ferry 57, Blind Brook 22. Girls -- Valhalla 134, Dobbs Ferry 80, Blind Brook 54. As there are so many points on the girls side compared to the boys side, I have no clue as to whether these scores are real.
As only the first place finishers are available, they are reported with corrected names as:
Boys: 110 High Hurdles -- Kevin Dahill, 18,4; 400 hurdles -- Kevin Dahill, 65.4; 1600m -- Pat Wortner, 5:00; 3200 relay -- DF, 9:33
Girls: 200m -- Megan Moynihan, 28.7; 800m -- Izzy Natale (no time given); 1500 -- Izzy Natale, 5:50; 3000 -- Lauren Hanley, 13:13; 3200 relay -- DF 11:50.
Congrats to Izzy and Kevin for double win and to all the Eagles who ran hard and survived. Next meet is at Bronxville on Monday, April 20.
