Ex-Eagle Captain Continues Rise for Bearcats
In a four-way collegiate battle at the Binghamton Invitational on Saturday, September 12, the Columbia women harriers captured the first 13 places against the host Binghamton, Le Moyne, and St. Bonaventure teams. The winning time of 19:07.84 on the 5K course was posted by Columbia's Jill Goodwin. Junior Paulina Nunez was the third runner in for 2nd place Binghamton as she took 20th in a great 20:20.88, finishing behind teammates freshman Rachel Miura (14th (ex-John Jay -East Fishkill, 6th in Class AA Sectional in 2008)) and junior Kim Law (17th).
Columbia also dominated on the men's side in an 8K race, though Binghamton's Chris Gaube was the top runner. The team's next race is not until Oct 2 at the Lehigh - Paul Short Run.
