Bearcats Run to 7th at America East Conference Championship
On a day which saw the University of Binghamton's men's team win their first conference championship, ex-Eagles captain Paulina Nunez and the women Bearcats ran to a 7th place at the AEC Championships at the University of Vermont. The meet's placements were very similar to last year's championship results except that the University of Maine vaulted all the way from 7th to 2nd, pushing the Bearcats back a place. Paulina finished at 39th in 20:16 as the 5th runner in for the Bearcats. Rachel Miura medaled in 10th for the Bearcats, and she was followed by Sarah Veith in 33rd , Alicia Finger in 35th , Lindsay Raulli in 37th , Paulina, Kim Law in 41st, and Terry Powell in 52nd.
The men's team used the 1-2 finish of Erik van Ingen and Chris Gaube to dominate the men's race on the way to their first title. The Bearcats now move on to the NCAA Division 1 Northeast Regional Championship in Boston on Saturday, November 14. The women's Bearcats squad finished 20th out of 34 teams last year when the meet was held at Van Cortlandt Park.
